五大专业(Field of study requirement)
If your study program has a field of study requirement, you must graduate from a program linked to certain occupations in long-term shortage. The fields of study are divided into 5broad categories:
• 农业和农产品 (agriculture and agri-food)
• 医疗保健 (healthcare)
• 科学、技术、工程和数学 (STEM) (science, technology, engineering and mathematics)
• 技工类 (trade)
• 运输 (transport)

The Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) is used to classify post-secondary education programs according to field of study in Canada.

What hasn’t changed
To be eligible for a PGWP, you must continue to meet the general and physical location eligibility requirements (even after November 1, 2024) and complete a study program at a PGWP eligible designated learning institution.
If you apply for a PGWP before November 1, 2024, you only need to meet the current eligibility criteria.
If you apply for a PGWP as a graduate from a PGWP eligible flight school, you only need to meet the current eligibility criteria (even after November 1, 2024).
This means that the new eligibility requirements below do not apply to you.
